P&E AUTOMATION Receives Industry Awards

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2009--

P&E AUTOMATION, INC. (“P&E”), a privately-held, certified Woman Owned/HUBZone small business headquartered in San Diego, announced that it is the recent recipient of two recent awards for excellence and innovation in their renewable energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and smart-grid businesses.

ENERGY SOLUTIONS CENTER AWARD

P&E AUTOMATION received the “Partnership Award for Innovative Energy Solutions” from the Energy Solutions Center. The award was presented June 17 in Salt Lake City by the Utah Governor’s State Energy Advisor, at the Energy Solutions Center’s Technology & Market Assessment Forum, which was attended by representatives of 42 North American energy utilities.

The award to P&E, and its customer Alliant Techsystems (ATK), was in recognition of a 2007-2008 energy efficiency project at ATK’s Promontory, UT manufacturing facility. The project that utilized P&E’s automated energy assessment and reporting technologies and methods to identify and capture energy savings yieldingof of over $4 million/year for ATK.

P&E AUTOMATION was selected as the “Best Investment Opportunity” at the Orange County, CA Tech Coast Angels Fast Pitch Competition, held June 9 at the University of California- Irvine.
P&E was one of 12 finalists selected from 116 applicant companies, and was invited to deliver a 90-second pitch to a panel of investors judging the quality of the presentation and the investment potential of the business. P&E was voted by the panel as the “Best Investment Opportunity” of the finalists’ presentations.
